Legal Malpractice - Los Angeles, California.
September, 2003
Non-Confidential Settlement: $350,000
We sued a well known Los Angeles entertainment
lawyer who lost, on summary judgment, a substantial royalty
case for two well known music composers. Case was difficult
because it was lost on a statute of limitations defense asserted
by the publishing company. We had to prove there was a winning
argument that could have been made on summary judgment, that
the lawyer was negligent in not making it, and that the case,
had it gone to trial, would have succeeded.
